Darryl has taught in the Washington, D.C. area for the past 20 years and is an accomplished standard and smooth dancer. These two dance styles comprise respectively the international version of the waltz, tango, Viennese waltz, foxtrot, and quickstep, the standard dances, and the American version of the waltz, tango, foxtrot, and Viennese waltz, the smooth dances.
Darryl is also an advocate of the Luigi jazz technique. Luigi, born Eugene Louis Faccuito, is the innovator of the world’s first jazz dance technique. Darryl teaches this jazz technique to his students and applies the technique to the latin, rhythm, and American smooth dances. The latin and rhythm dances comprise respectively the international version of the cha cha, samba, rumba, paso doble, and jive and the American version of the cha cha, swing, rumba, bolero, and mambo.
Darryl received his Associate level degree with honors from the ISTD, the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, in 2001. The ISTD is the world's leading dance examinations board.
